Frequently Asked
Questions
- How long will I be without my car?
This is probably one of the first and foremost questions.
Depending on the extent of damage, repairs can last from 1 or 2
days to one or two 'months' in the most extreme conditions. Keep
in mind that there are so many factors influencing completion
times, including delays such as waiting for parts, additional
inspections by insurance adjusters, and sublet work (such as major
mechanical repairs), just to name a few. Our estimators will give
you as close a time estimate as possible, but please keep in mind
that generally, major collision jobs do take a longer time for
completion.
- Can I take my car to any body shop?
As the owner of the vehicle, you can take your vehicle to ANY shop
you wish. However, since you want your vehicle properly repaired
and have the least aggravation involving your insurance company,
it may be beneficial to bring your vehicle to a shop such as ours
who specializes in many Direct Repair Programs and works directly
with insurance companies.
- My insurance company is paying for the repairs. Will I have
to pay anything out of my pocket?
Here’s a question where YOU have to fully read and understand your
insurance policy, as they are all a little different. However,
depending on the coverage within your policy, you most likely will
have to pay the insurance deductible, and may have to pay for a
replacement rental car while your car is in for repairs, for
example. Read your policy completely and if you have questions,
call your local insurance representative directly to help clarify
your coverage. And of course, feel free to call one of our
estimators, at any time, as they deal with these questions every
day.
- I brought my car to another shop and the estimate is less.
Should I go there?
As mentioned in Question #2, you are the owner and can bring your
vehicle to any shop. However, with a lower estimate, there may be
items not included such as wheel alignment, re-aiming headlamps,
etc. Our estimates include ALL items required to bring your
vehicle back to its pre-accident condition. And, if we’ve
overlooked something, we will work to submit for supplemental
repairs with your insurance company to get you the full benefit of
your insurance policy.
